WordCityStudio is a collaborative space for imagination, brainstorming, problem-solving and project creation founded by multimedia artist, writer and consultant Kathleen Sweeney, in collaboration with creative technology expert Jeffrey Marino.
Kathleen Sweeney is a multimedia storyteller. Her work weaves text and media at the intersection of digital, urban and social cultural maps. Her video and web projects have been funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, New York State Council on the Arts, Ford Foundation and other resources, with residencies at the Virginia Center for Creative Arts; Cill Rialaig Art Center, Ireland; and Mind and Life Institute Europe, Germany.
In addition to her own video art exhibitions and publications in print and online, she serves as a creative communications consultant to visionaries and changemakers, providing key insights to artists, filmmakers, writers and non-profits with an emphasis on the transmission of ideas distilled through social media. She has produced multimedia campaigns for book and film launches, crowdfunding campaigns, apps and websites with a focus on mindfulness, social transformation and cultural breakthroughs.
Jeffrey Marino is expert in media content and technology, video post-production and communications. With experience on two coasts, he has produced and edited video for Silicon Valley companies; edited national broadcast news at ABC, New York; and has collaborated on the launch two NYC startups, GroundControl and Visible World, specializing in automated content customization technology.
As a Digital Asset Management consultant, Jeffrey helps organizations manage, customize and navigate the unique implementation of their digital asset management systems and processes, most recently for the national headquarters of the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union). As Project Director at WordCityStudio, he produces all visual design collateral, including motion graphics, social media branding, and video.
